Maintenance Tips

Always remember that your tyres are all that are between you and the road. They should be checked at least once a month.
Check tyres for damage, cuts, tears and excessive wear.
Check tyre pressure is suitable for your vehicle and adjust if necessary.
Under inflated tyres will increase your fuel consumption.
Over inflated tyres will result in poor steering control and a bumpy ride.
Don’t forget to keep your spare wheel in order.

Make sure all lights, i.e. Headlights, Tail lights, brake lights, signal lights and fog lights are in proper working order and correctly focused.

Always remember to keep your proper braking distnace between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Always use a good quality fuel.

Try not to let the fuel guage go to empty, as the sediment collected at the base of the fuel tank will affect the performance and cause problems.

Check all fluid levels, i.e. Oil, Coolant, Power steering Fluid, Brake Fluid, Fluid, not forgetting windscreen wash – Top up if necessary.
Check the radiator and radiator grill for fouling. (e.g. Leaves, paper, insects, dirt etc) as this may lead to overheating.
Check fan belt, power steering belt , and air conditioning belt for cracks and excessive wear.

It is required by law to wear a safety belt. Al belts should be in proper working order and checked on a regular basis.

For your own safety and peace of mind while traveliing, you should keep the following at hand:

First Aid Kit, Warning Triangle, Flash Lamp, High Visibility Vest, Spare Bulb and Fuse Kits, De Icer and Ice Scraper.
